I'm torn about putting this custom-made flush-fret openback up for sale so soon after Eric finished it for me. It's in terrific shape and has a great, old-time sound -- mellow, but strong. But it deserves to be with someone who will play it more often than I can. This is Eric's 8-hook tension hoop model with a highly flamed neck, 12" oak pot and his standard 26 1/2" scale. It has 12 inlaid flush frets of walnut and is deeply scooped at about where the 17th fret would be. Standard dowel stick construction. I asked Eric to install Peghed (r) brand tuners to give it that old-time look. Instead of friction-fit violin pegs, though, Pegheds have internal gears and turn at a 4:1 ratio...just like regular geared tuners. Very neat!
If you're thinking about fretless play, this might be your best introduction to the style. It won't fit a normal gig bag, though, so I will wrap it securely; pack it well; and ship it in a sturdy carton. Comes with a 5-day money-back guarantee. If the chemistry doesn't work, just pack it back up and return for a full refund.
