Banjo Studio is an authorized Sullivan Banjo dealer. Brand new, with a hardshell case included. This is the actual banjo you'll be purchasing.
The Sullivan Vintage 35 is about as close as you can get to buying a 1935 Gibson flathead Mastertone brand new. Before Sullivan put their own name on the peghead, the Sullivan family in Louisville, Kentucky spent decades making banjo parts, and for years they built components for Gibson's own banjos. That lasted until 2010, when the Nashville flood shut down Gibson's banjo shop and Gibson stopped making banjos altogether. The family took everything they had learned building parts for those banjos and put it into their own line. The Vintage 35 is the result: a prewar-style resonator banjo, built new, by the people who know those parts better than anyone.
It's loud and punchy, with a dry, woody growl in the low end and a clean crack on top. Best for bluegrass and Scruggs-style players who want an authentic prewar flathead sound in a new, professional-grade banjo.
