A rare Saga Florentine Special banjo from the 70s/80s, made in Japan. A Gibson replica with Florentine inlays, but crafted from mahogany, with a rosewood fingerboard, a flathead tone ring and concentric rings in the resonator.
The instrument is in good condition but shows signs of age: patina on the hardware, minor scratches in the finish. A small corner at the base of the neck appears to have taken a knock at some point and has been glued. However, this does not affect the stability of the neck. There are further minor scratches on the side of the resonator and on the peghead (see photos).
Following a thorough clean, the banjo has been fitted with a new head and new strings. Thanks to the new setup, it sounds superb. It comes with the original accessories and a vintage hard case.
