Gibson Granada-Style Mastertone 5-String Banjo – Serial #9717-23 – Private Estate Collection
Offered for sale is a beautiful Gibson-branded Granada-style Mastertone five-string banjo from my late father’s personal collection.
My father was a dedicated banjo player, collector, and enthusiast with a particular passion for Gibson banjos and traditional bluegrass instruments. He spent many years collecting, playing, restoring, and converting vintage four-string tenor banjos into five-string instruments.
This Granada-style banjo features Gibson lettering on the headstock and the number 9717-23 stamped into the wood.
The instrument has been in our family’s possession for many years and was part of my father’s treasured collection. He passed away in 2020, and we are now offering several of his instruments for sale.
We have limited information regarding the banjo’s exact age, manufacturer, original components, and any previous modifications. It has not been professionally authenticated as an original Gibson Granada or pre-war Mastertone.
We encourage serious collectors and knowledgeable banjo enthusiasts to carefully examine all photographs and contact us with any questions.
This is a wonderful opportunity to acquire a Granada-style five-string banjo from a longtime musician’s personal collection
