For sale is a 2004 Gold Star GF-85 five-string bluegrass banjo (from the Saga-era reissue period). The instrument is in excellent condition and shows almost no signs of use—it is completely free of scratches, and the frets and fretboard show only minimal wear. The banjo delivers a great, punchy, and dry sound reminiscent of pre-war Gibson instruments. It is very loud and offers excellent resonance. It features an original "Flathead" style tone ring (Gold Star post-2000 reissue) mounted on a three-ply maple rim, with a mahogany neck and resonator. Premium gold-plated Schaller B4 tuners are installed, along with spikes for the 5th string at the 7th, 9th, and 10th frets. Includes a Gator GC-Banjo-XL hard case (with key), a spare bridge, a banjo strap, adjustment wrenches, and the original certificate.
The banjo is located in the Czech Republic. The instrument will be packed in its hard case and then placed in a bubble-wrap-lined cardboard box; the strings will be loosened, and the shipment will be fully insured.
