This is a very special Yates banjo with a unique history. It was owned, played, and signed by Ron Stewart himself. I saw Ron at a festival a few months ago and showed him the banjo, and he confirmed that it was previously his. I have a picture of Ron playing this very banjo, included at the end of the photos.
This is a 2008 mahogany model with an unplated, no hole V33 tone ring. It sounds incredible and is very comfortable to play. I had the frets replaced this past January and they’re still in excellent condition. With new Yates banjos currently discontinued, this is a particularly special opportunity to own a Yates instrument with a personal connection to Ron Stewart.
I’m only selling because I’ve discovered that I prefer banjos with radiused fingerboards, and this instrument deserves to be played rather than sitting in a case. It’s a fantastic banjo, and it’s history makes it especially meaningful.
A hardshell case and Huber leather strap are included.
