Nice banjo with mediocre tuners, to be fully transparent. Speaking of transparent, I've replaced the original fiberskin head with a sonically superior clear head. I think the clear heads sound best across the board and this is no exception.
Yes, it's a known fact that these tuners are not great, but if you are patient, they work. Just be prepared to tune frequently or upgrade to finer machines
Other than that, this is cool little banjo. I found an old Deering Basic tenor that smokes, so off this one goes. I think you'll like it but if not, returns minus shipping cost will be accepted under the terms of this sale.
Tuned to Irish tenor (GDAE).
Of note, the tailpiece cover was removed as it tended to rattle and was functionally useless so off it went. Does not affect playability.
No case or gig-bag, but will be bubble wrapped and placed in a new cardboard box with foam peanuts.
