Zach Hoyt open back banjo #63 built in 2018. I bought it off another member on the hangout a few years back, and it's been a phenomenal banjo, I just need to trim the herd and don't play much open back professionally.
When it came to me, it didn't have a case, and thanks to Banjo Hangout legend, Karl Smakula, we were able to find a TKL case that fits it, which happens to be stylishly tweed.
The case saga was notable because this is an almost-long-neck banjo scale length, but with the 5th string at the 5th fret like a normal banjo. It comes in at a whopping 29" scale length, and has a very beefy neck. I have used Hartford low-strung strings on it, and use it like a cello banjo tuned to an E major chord.
The banjo has a brass tone tone hoop and block rim design. Richlite fretboard.
