For Sale: Vega/Fairbanks #9 Tu-Ba-Phone 5 string banjo with resonator
Mint condition Vega/Fairbanks #9 Tu-Ba-Phone 5 string banjo. Comes with the original pie-plate resonator. Gruhn noted that it was one of the cleanest #9s that they had seen. Original Planetary tuners have been upgraded with new Rickard Cyclone 10:1 gold plated tuners. The original tuners and 5th string friction peg are included. New Kirschner tailpiece that is period correct. 11” pot, with 27” scale and 1 5/16”nut. Serial number #51705, making this instrument somewhere in the 1920-22 range.
