For your consideration is an all original, extremely rare Gibson TB 3 conversion 1927 No Hole tone ring with the coveted Fatboy thick rim, and Robin Smith five string neck. The no hole tone ring was only manufactured for one year in 1927 and is regarded by experts as Gibson’d best sounding archtop tone ring. The Fatboy thicker rim is exceedingly rare and was only manufactured for a short time in 1927 and an estimated 20 units were made. The combination of the no hole ring and the fatter rim produces a singularly unique pre-war tone that when the head is slightly loosened , is as close to a pre-war flathead as you can get. Good quality five string neck conversions with a no hole tone ring and Fatboy rim have sold for considerably more money than I am asking. Given the rarity, it is reasonable to expect a high upside appreciation potential . HSC
