A beautiful example of the craftsmanship of Robin Smith. Sadly I never got to meet him, but I am blown away by the excellence of his work. Here is a gold-plated Granada in excellent condition with FOUR Keith tuners. Highly flamed curly maple neck and resonator. Beautiful flat rosewood fretboard. Minimal fretwear, and has never been refretted or filed down as evidenced by the binding nibs still intact. spikes at 7,8,9,10. Sounds absolutely incredible. Unknown year. Fading to the gold armrest as shown and also to the tone ring. Imperfection on the back of the peg head between the tuners, but not discolored or glaring—I’ve tried to picture it but has to be tilted in the right light to detect it. A remarkably well preserved piece that measures up to the reputation of its creator.
This “Gibson” Granada is better than a Gibson Granada, and could be the centerpiece for the discerning collector of custom banjos.
