I’m offering my 1971 Vega Martin VIP for sale. It’s a strong, bright, lively banjo from the Martin era, and it plays beautifully.
Condition Notes
Fretboard: Light wear around the second fret
5th String Capo: The original Shubb sliding capo was removed by a previous owner; the screw holes were filled
Neck Finish: Some finish wear on the back of the neck just below the headstock
Originality: Otherwise all original, with no modifications or replaced parts
Playability & Tone
This VIP is a solid, responsive player with that classic bright Vega punch. It’s set up well and ready to go.
Why I’m Selling
I’m a longtime Vega enthusiast and have accumulated more banjos than I realistically play. This VIP deserves to be in the hands of someone who will enjoy it more often than I do.
