What a great deal! This 'Masterclone' sounds great, with that Stanley snap. I am listing this banjo for a friend that has owned it for at least 35 years (as long as I've known him). He is a frailer and played this banjo rarely. I think that the pot was constructed of StewMac parts, regardless of the Gibson sticker. Without disassembling it that's my guess. As you can see, it's a 40 hole archtop ring and 5-Star tuners.
The neck is very well done of walnut with the Gibson logo and 'flying eagles' inlays. The neck is straight and the action perfect. Okay, the resonator is odd inasmuch as the grain is angled (don't look at it while you are playing). A good case and extras are included. Hopefully, the pictures will provide you with sufficient information.
Please ask for any details or offer any insights, I'll appreciate it.
