The OME Jubilee banjo comes from Boulder, Colorado, where OME has been building first under the ODE name since the early 1960s. Typical of the OME company, this banjo displays excellent build quality, great hardware and a very nice inlay set. On this slightly older but well-cared for model, the neck is beautiful Mahogany.
This example dates to 2014 and is in very good, clean condition with a Superior bump hard shell case. It plays easily and sounds great, with solid projection and clarity, with a substantial helping of plunk supplied by the stunning goatskin head supplied by the maestro of skin heads, John Balch.
Its a joy to play.
Heres the builder on the OME Jubilee open-back banjo:
The OME JUBILEE Old-Time banjo features our graceful 26.25 scaled neck with 12? Tone Rim construction and two adjustable brass rim rods. Together these attributes allow the JUBILEE to produce a wonderfully sweet tone with cleaner bass and treble and lively response than the shorter 25.5 scaled Old-Time Series banjos.
The JUBILEE is the woodiest sounding banjo in our Vintage Series and comes standard in American Cherry and aged brass hardware with the option to upgrade to Walnut, Curly Maple and nickel.
