This 1962 example is a notable survivor having escaped much of the hot-rodding that most 250s experienced. This banjo features its original Kluson tuners in fine working shape (I added leather washers), it's original finish, frets, hardware, triangle tailpiece, friction fifth string tuner (in the case pocket) etc. etc.
The original 4 hole tone ring has a loose slip fit and this puppy rumbles. I've got the head set to about 86-87 and it sounds much more open and full than the pinched reputation these banjos often get.
