ca 1898 Rettberg & Lange / Buckbee 5 String Banjo
This banjo is definitely a Buckbee but it is reliably believed to have been made by Rettberg & Lange. R&L assumed the assets of the JH Buckbee Company in 1897 and continued to produce Buckbee style banjos from remaining inventory.
This banjo is totally reconditioned and has had a recent neck reset. It features a rare 10 inch rim, new calfskin head, vintage Grover tuners, new Grover 5th string peg, a moose bone nut, new John Pearse strings, Grover bridge, and a vintage Elite No Knot tailpiece
