1963 Gibson TB-100 Archtop Banjo, converted to 5-string.
Original tuning pegs, except added 5-star 5th string tuner.
5-star archtop head.
Conversion neck is cherry. Both peghead and fretboard are ebony. Mother of pearl hearts and flowers inlay.
A hardshell Lifton Case from the same early 1960's era is included. Case is in good shape, no issues with hinges or latches. It is missing one brass foot on back. An Ace Strap from the same period is also included.
SMP+ banjo pickup, designed by Gold Tone has been added. It's humbucking design provides a realistic banjo tone, deep bass response, and does not require a preamp. It is easy to adjust or remove. It just clamps on to the coordinator rod and can easily slide toward the neck of the bridge to adjust tonality.
The tone ring is a brass hoop, so this is an easy banjo to play on stage with all night long!
Some small nicks on edge of the resonator and the peghead. There is a little crazing on the resonator gloss noticeable in the right light but, overall, the banjo is in great shape.
