Custom 5-String Banjo by Dr. Rupert Hartmann. Hardshell Case INCLUDED.
It won't take you long to realize that this banjo is not only super top quality but it is also a work of art. This "Hartmann" 5-String banjo is a one of a kind, by Dr. Rupert Hartmann, a builder of exceptional skill and exacting standards. In his own words, Dr. Hartmann says:
This five string banjo is an exact copy of a Gibson Mastertone five-string. The tone ring is a Tennessee 20 engraved, gold. All wood parts were obtained from First Quality Music Supply in Louisville, Kentucky, who made the the banjo parts for original Gibson Banjos. All wooden parts are genuine maple wood. The neck is a special tiger "grande" maple. All hardware is engraved, gold plated, and obtained from the same supplier.
The only thing missing from this Gibson master tone copy is the Gibson brand name. The inlay work is genuine mother of pearl and abalone. The abalone binding is copied from a fancy Martin guitar. The banjo features a genuine ebony fretboard inlaid with pearl and abalone inlay in a fancy vine-of-life pattern. No expense was spared in both materials and workmanship on this instrument. This instrument is truly a one-of-a-kind creation.
This banjo was constructed circa 2000. The engraving was done by Dave Giulietti, the pot assembly by Bill Sullivan of First Quality, inlay by Brian England, gold plating by Perfection Plating. The asking price in this listing is below what we consider to be market value. However, Dr. Hartmann has decided to put this masterpiece up for sale.
Please note: Should you prefer to have your own name or logo on the headstock, you can send the neck to Dave Nichols, of Custom Inlay, who will expertly change the design. Furthermore, the underside of the truss rod Covid er is polished. You can turn it over and have your own name or logo inlaid on it. Questions are welcome, and we will answer them the best we can.
