This is an early 1964 Gibson RB250 5-string Flathead ser#229887 with original 20-hole tone ring and full thickness, brown-stained rim. It is all original except for strings, head, 5th peg, and bridge. The banjo will ship with the original peghead tuners installed and a spare Presto tailpiece. The neck was recently reset by Steve Huber, so the neck angle is perfect. The frets are quite worn, but it still plays just fine. Sliding capo holes have been filled and spikes installed at 7 & 9. There is a very slight bend in the flange under the tailpiece (photo #10). You would miss it if I didn't point it out. This is a player's grade instrument with various minor cosmetic issues as shown in the photos, but it's a great sounding and playing banjo. This one has been played a lot and has lots of honest patina. The original case has slight musty smell. Questions welcomed. More photos upon request.
