Update; I did receive some info on this banjo. It came out of the factory as a wreath banjo per Greg Rich. I am being told that Ron Coleman had build the neck for it.
1992 Gibson RB-3 wreath banjo 3-9202-14, Greg Rich Era.
Banjo has a reproduction RB-3 wreath neck with a rosewood fretboard with ebony overlay (unknow maker). The neck has a great feel in your hand, not thick and not to thin. The frets has very little wear on them with RR spikes at the 7, 8, 9 & 10 fret locations. The stain and binding on the neck match the resonator perefectly.
The pot is 100% original. All of the metal parts are in great shape. This banjos has a Kulesh AFP Tone Ring. The resonator has some cosmetic finish damage right below where the tailpeice is located on the banjo, there's a picture of this area. Also, has some scratches on the back side of the resonator that could be buffed out. This is a great sounding banjo with a killer 4th string. I've never played a banjo that has such a respoisive 4th string. Lots of power and punch. Has the original Gibson case. The case is in worn codition with one latch that is broken. This is the first Greg Rich era banjo I have owned. I have to say, this era of Gibson banjos are high quality and the tone they produce is excelent.
I have added a video of this banjo.
Thank for looking!
