1922/23 Paramount Style F 19-fret tenor banjo with resonator. 23 scale length; 11 rim, archtop design; 13 resonator. Rosewood neck, rim, and headstock; solid rosewood (not laminate) resonator; rosewood fretboard. Gold-plated engraved hardware is all original including Page tuners with pearl buttons, Paramount patented tailpiece, and armrest. Elaborate carving on neck heel and back of headstock. Inlays are intact (engraving on neck inlays is worn), including the intricate Paramount logo on the headstock face. New renaissance head installed; original (possibly) skin head included. Set up with phosphor bronze strings in GDAE for Irish/Celtic trad, and ½ bridge.
EXC original condition overall except (hence the minus designation) (a) fretboard is worn down behind the 2nd and 3rd frets between the top two strings, but the banjo is still easily playable, and (b) resonator has an old single 4"crack in it from the outer edge, and (c) the resonator back has some unexplainable pitting on the finish, which appeared to be oversprayed at some point to protect. The banjo was obviously well played, but also well kept.
