Welp, I've decided to part ways with my Yates RB-3. This is the newest Yates model (NOT from the Ron Stewart line), a
"recreation of JD Crowe's Banger." While I don't know anything about that, this is undoubtedly the loudest and most powerful banjo I have ever owned. It overpowers my actual prewar. I have never owned another banjo that screamed capital-B Bluegrass like this one. It is practically unplayed, used for the odd (outdoor, socially-distanced) jam or two but not a single mark or indication of use anywhere (save the Yates relic-ing process, of course).
I'm glad to have owned it, I've just come to the realization that I prefer banjos with radiused fingerboards and should shift this particular banjo-investment elsewhere. So I can sell this for $4K (not super-negotiable, sorry) or would gladly work out some sort of trade for a similarly-valued Masterstone-style banjo with a radiused neck. First choice would be a Heartland, would also consider Huber or a converted prewar, something along those lines. I would also consider trading for an uncoverted prewar, like a TB-1 or -11 or whatever.
Ships in OHSC, will put the original armrest and bridge back on before shipping. More photos and/or video upon request. Thanks!
