Made by Gibson in 1930 for retailer Montgomery Ward. This was the highest grade model they produced and was based on their "Style 6". It features many high-grade appointments. These include gold plating, maple rim, 40 hole archtop tone ring, multi-coloured (Florentine style) binding, engraved armrest and tension-hoop, hearts and flowers inlays and Planet tuners with solid pearl buttons. The neck and resonator have been refinished. Unfortunately, the heel has a crack, which was repaired and is solid. Incredibly rare. Comes with a full appraisal/valuation by Joe Spann. HSC. Vintage tenor banjo trades/swaps considered.
