1998 Gibson JD Crowe RB75 5 string Banjo

This is a 1998 Gibson JD Crowe RB75 that is gorgeous.  This has been inspected and set up at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta Georgia.

Description

This is a copy of an RB75 that was played by JD Crowe and this is endorsed by JD Crowe as well.  This has a 3 ply hard rock maple shell with a mahogany neck and resonator.  The hardware is nickel.  The fretboard is rosewood and this has a Flying Eagle inlay pattern.  The banjo has a Gibson JD Crowe Tone ring and also has a one piece flange.  The armrest is a one piece and this has a Presto Tailpiece.  This is all original except for new Rickard Cyclone 10:1 tuners which are $200 alone.

The label is hand signed by JD Crowe which is a really nice touch.

This is the type of banjo to play if you want the true classic bluegrass banjo twang and want a loud banjo that cuts through the music.  This is gorgeous and has a very clean Superior Hardshell Case.

Condition

This is in gorgeous shape and we professionally cleaned this as well.  We disassembled the banjo and buffed the metal with a high powered buffer and waxed all of the wood.  The fretboard has been cleaned and oiled as well.  This already was in good shape but now it basically looks new.

The finish looks fantastic and the metal glows.  The fretboard is clean and the frets show almost no wear.  There are spikes at the 7th and 9th frets.  This is in great shape and also has a clean Superior Case.

Set Up

This has been professionally set up at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta Georgia.  This has a new Remo frosted head which is set to 90 on a drum dial.  The bridge is set with correct intonation.  The strings are new Huber Truetone .10 gauge strings and the action is set nicely.  This also is adjustable.

This is a very popular design that has been cleaned and set up to look play and sound incredible.  This is a serous banjo!
