This is a very rare banjo. It may have only been made in 1930. It has the "dancing lady" in-layed on the back of the peg head. Look at the photos to see the beautiful work put into making this historic banjo. Has any one seen another Vagaphone like this banjo?
The following info was taken from a 1930 Vega sales brochure:
"The resonator is an artistically, designed feature of this De Luxe model; the resonator wall is bound with white fiberloid , handsomely engraved, hand-colored and bordered on the top and bottom with strips of Goldleur, and the back is beautifully engraved over its entire surface of white fiberloid, richly colored and its center set with engraved Goldleur star that that sparkles with the brillance and richness for which Vega banjos are known.
