Scarce c. 1917 W.A. Cole Eclipse tenor banjo (sn 7534). 10 3/4" rim, 20 1/2" scale, 1 3/16" nut width.
Mahogany neck, Eclipse tone ring, engraved m.o.p. inlays, original Grover Champion tuners, new Remo bottom frosted head.
Straight neck, very minor fret wear. Set up with bottom frosted head and two-footed ebony tipped bridge. Action is 1/8" at the 12th fret. Fine player.
A fingerboard crack has been professionally repaired and is nearly undetectable.
A worn but somewhat usable period case is included.
Six of the 24 nuts are not original but are modern ones which have an overall resemblance to the originals. In the side by side photo, the original is on the right.
