A VERY nice Special Thoroughbred set up with a Remo head, new No-Knot tailpiece, LaBella strings, and a 7/16ths bridge. The head diameter is 10 1/2"; the scale 26 1/4". Remarkably, there are NO dings around the edge of the peghead, the heel carving is spectacular as you can see, and the neck, other than the wear on the backside of the neck between the 1st and 5th frets, is beautiful. It has the proper amount of 'relief' for gut strings and the 4th string is 3/16ths over the 12th fret. There is some wear on the first four frets but no buzzes. All the brackets/nuts are original and the tuners hold tune. This banjo is louder than you would think with nylon strings. It sounds great. The end-opening case is less than wonderful.
