Paramount banjos were the top-of-the-line for Rettberg & Lange instruments made in the ‘20s and ’30s and this one is a rare beauty. In fact, it's the only one we've ever seen or heard of!
?The neck and resonator are of matching white holly, with a rosewood fret board with the iconic Paramount slotted diamond fret markers in mother-of pearl. All metal parts are nickel plated, including the unique locking tailpiece. The six of the tuning machines are the Page double cam style and the other two are double tab Grovers.
?This instrument is very clean, with only a few scratches on the resonator and no visible fret wear. With an astounding amount of volume, this Paramount evokes memories of the days when every corner featured a jug band and the mandolin banjo could be heard for blocks away!
