2009 Gibson RB75C 5 string Banjo Charlie Derrington

This is a Gibson JD Crowe RB75 that was custom made as a gift for Charlie Derrington. Charlie made the Loar reproduction mandolins at Gibson. The banjo has several signatures on the inside of the resonator including Charlie’s wife Susan. This is a special piece of Gibson banjo history and is in fantastic condition.

Gibson RB75C Description

This is a copy of the RB3 that was played by JD Crowe. The banjo is mahogany with nickel hardware. The neck is also mahogany with a rosewood fretboard. The fretboard has a Flying Eagle inlay pattern. There is white binding on each side of the resonator and neck. This has a one piece armrest and a custom tailpiece. The inside of the resonator has several signatures that were present when the banjo was given to Charlie. In addition this has a Superior Hardshell Case.

Gibson RB75C Condition

The banjo is in fantastic condition. Truly gorgeous. The finish is clean with almost no marks. The hardware looks incredible. The neck is clean and straight with a clean fretboard. The frets have little wear and only on the first few. There are spikes on the 7th and 9th frets. This is in fantastic condition and includes a clean original hardshell case.

Gibson RB75C Set up

The banjo is set up with a Deering frosted head and a Gary Sosebee bridge. This has Huber Truetone strings. The action and intonation are set correctly and the head is set to 90 on a drum dial. This plays great and sounds incredible!! The true bluegrass banjo sound.
