This is a terrific sounding 5-string banjo that started out life as Gibson’s entry level tenor with very simple appointments, an 11” diameter rim and one-piece flange, now wedded to a new Recording King mahogany neck matching the single bound resonator.
This combination produces a crisp, clear full-bodied Gibson tone that devotees of both Uncle Dave or Earl Scruggs will find most pleasing. Surprisingly there is no tone ring whatsoever, nor even a hoop, making for an extremely light weight instrument.
This instrument is in excellent condition, the hardware is original with the exception of the arm rest which is a modern replica, the resonator is clean and the new neck lacks fret wear, nicks or scratches. stk#VGB5028
