I recently got this Goose Acres Electric from Bob Smakula of Smakula Fretted Instruments in Elkins, West Virgina. Bob just so happens to have been one of the builders at Goose Acres in Cleveland during the 1980s, where they only built somewhere around 300 of the finest banjos out there. I love this banjo, but am looking for something with a scooped neck. I wish I could keep this and afford another, but unfortunately I'll have to let this one go. Most of the Goose Acres I've seen out there have been from the "T" series, which were a bit simpler than the higher-end Electrics. This banjo has a spunover rim with the Electric tone ring, beautiful mahogany neck, and ebony fingerboard. The frets were replaced by Smakula Fretted Instruments prior to my purchase, and they put on a new Fiberskyn head and a new bridge. I also had three spikes added to the 7th, 9th, and 10th frets at Dusty Strings in Seattle. The only wear on the instrument is some very minor scuffing around the edges of the headstock. Please let me know if you have any questions!
