This is a circa 1922 Bacon and Day Tenor (# 7686 ) banjo that was originally a #1 - now with EXTENSIVE customization. It should be about a #6.
I spent about 80 hours customizing this banjo, I have spent over $4000 for the banjo plus the engraving/gold plating/pearl. The major metal parts are all hand engraved (by Ron Chasey) , with the parts gold plated. The heel has been carved. I in-layed an extensive amount of pearl (back of peg head, resonator, wooden rim, and heel. I also engraved almost all of the pearl, even the fret board inlays. I believe the head is new and there is a Farquhar bridge and Ottenger tail piece.
Look at the photos! It should now be about a # 6 !
