This is a Masterclone parts banjo. The pot comes from Cliff Fitch & is a Sullivan Factory Floor rim with metal parts probably from Sullivan as well. Tone ring is a Hopkins nickel plated flathead. The head is an old pre-EPA Remo, NOS. Resonator is maple with nice grain & in very good shape.
The neck was made by Robin Smith (Nashville) and is nicely grained maple with Flying Eagle inlays. The inlay material was picked out by Chuck “Duke Of Pearl” Erikson from his private stash, then cut & inlayed by Robin. This is one of the best inlays I’ve seen, very little duck butter at all. Gotoh tuners. Spikes @ 7, 8, 9, 10 & 12. This was originally made for a two-piece flange banjo but I had Monte Hendricks convert it to one-piece. You can barely tell where he added wood to make it fit the one-piece.
This banjo has been taken care of very well (thanks, OCD!). It comes in a TKL DeLuxe case (the one with 6 latches), also in fine shape. I would prefer to have this picked up in person but if I ship it, I will charge you exactly what it costs to ship. I’ve shipped instruments before & I know how to pack them. If you want more pix, tell me what you want & I will do my best to accommodate you. I’ve been debating selling this banjo because I love the neck but expenses demand that I do so. Thanks for looking…
