1982 Deering Maple Blossom.
This is a great banjo, which has plenty of volume and can produce a variety of tones. This banjo has been on international tours and hundreds of gigs, and easily has 5,000 or more hours on it - so it's got some appropriate wear - which means it's been played enough to sound good.
The word "Deering" wore off the headstock from having capos/tuners clipped up there, but it's obviously a Deering. You rarely see early Deerings up for sale, and the new Maple Blossoms are over 4k, so it's hard to put a price on it, but this one puts out some tone for the money.
Deering-endorsed artists have played it and deemed it one of the better Deerings they ever heard, bracket-shoe or not.
It's been together for 8-9 years or so, so I left it together to keep the tone rather than clean it up. I'd possibly be willing to put a new head on it and polish up the metal a bit if that's what the buyer wants.
