This banjo was made by Ernst Hammig in New York, New York around c. 1880. 11" head; new Elite modern head; newer period tail piece; nylgut strings; wide frets; wooden inlay stars, circles and diamond on neck. 25 3/4" scale; It is a six-string banjo with a rosewood hoop, 16 brackets, rosewood neck, and friction pegs, 5 on the head stock and the 1 for the short string.
