This banjo was made by Vega after purchase the A. C. Fairbanks company. It is an original five string with same neck as used on Whyte Laydie No. 2 with 26 inch scale. The peghead features an engraved Gryphon inlay, the ebony fingerboard has dots with engraved "Christmas trees". The rim is 10-3/4" inch heavily spun over and equipped with original hardware. The banjo has a good, strong sound and excellent playability. It compares favorable to the Whyte Laydie banjos but is much lighter in weight.
