This is a Japanese-made Orpheum tenor banjo, probably from the 1970's. NOT the renowned Lange/Paramount Orpheums of the 1920's-30's. Still, it plays great and looks cool! Our luthier did a basic setup on it. We kept the clear head on that it came to us with. Tuning is set up for GDAE (Irish tuning). But if you prefer CGDA tuning, we can swap out the strings before shipping it, or can include a spare string set for that tuning.
19 frets, gold rim and hardware, removable resonator with 3 screws. Intonation is good and action is comfortable. There is a small scratch (not deep) on the resonator; otherwise, not much to mention cosmetically. Head shows a little bit of pick-wear.
No case is included, but we will pack it well for shipping (probably with the bridge removed). If you are interested in a hard or soft case, let us know. UPS Ground shipping is FREE within the continental US. If you are outside the continental US, please contact us for a shipping quote.
