We've seen Kay Silva tenors, but never an "Artist" before. This banjo is in fine condition: the neck is perfectly straight, frets show infinitesimal wear, and the single-line Kluson Deluxe tuners are shiny like the rest of the all-original hardware. Okay, the bad stuff: the (pre-EPA?) head is a little dirty, there is some weather-checking on the back of the peghead and neck (ala Gibson), some minor scratches on the resonator, and two TINY dings in the clear-coat on the peghead.
According to BHO experts, this is a later production Silva that does not have the big tone ring, armrest, and 'stair-step' tuners. However, I have not altered this banjo since I got it 11 years ago. It's a neat neck (with the adjust-i-matic heel) on a plain pot with a great resonator. The hard case is included.
