While far from the cleanest example of these banjos, it’s always fun to find old dusty things tha say Gibson on it and I’m glad to help find this one a new home.
This 1930 TB-1 has the fairly uncommon “Coke bottle” headstock and the equally uncommon single bound resonator. Unfortunately, it came with a broken tailpiece, a missing armrest, and a disintegrating tension hoop. The tuners are absent as well, but that’s because I used them for another project. The frets are very worn in the first position, but as this will likely wind up as a five string conversion, I left them alone.
The flange has some light pull but no cracks. All resonator lugs, Thumb screws, L Brackets, hooks, and nuts are original. The skin head appears to be replacement.
I have some modern nickel hardware that should work with this banjo should the buyer need it. We can work something out.
Ships in the original hardshell case.
