I am selling a Gibson RB-00 banjo. (Pre-war conversion). The original head pressure ring was replaced with a more modern one from Zden?k Roh, which contributed to better tailpiece stability. (The original tailpiece on a narrow pressure ring was very unstable). The tonering is a Rolled Brass Hoop / tone ring with a short "skirt". (See photo). Bridge by Tim Purcell, Clamshell tailpiece, Classic neck inlay - Flying Eagle...Hooks for the fifth string at the 7th and 9th frets. The head is a Remo Weather King. The resonator rim and flange are original.
Don't be fooled by the absence of the classic tone ring, it doesn't detract from the sound in any way, on the contrary it emphasizes the deeper tones, while maintaining the "ringing" in the higher frequencies. And for those who have back problems, I can say that the banjo is very light!
A hard case from Boston Case Company is included in the sales.
