Beautiful, handcrafted fretless banjo from Cedar Mountain, built in 2008 by Lo Gordon. Cedar Mountain rarely produced fretless models outside of custom orders, making this a unique and hard-to-find instrument.
This banjo features an 11” pot with a ~25.25” scale, rolled brass tone ring, a cherry neck, Honduras rosewood rim, and an East Indian rosewood fretboard and peghead overlay. It has a warm, rich tone and the smooth, expressive feel that fretless players appreciate.
Condition is excellent overall. There are a few cosmetic lines on the back of the headstock—these are not cracks and do not affect playability or structural integrity (just want to be fully transparent).
Includes a hard shell case. The case is functional and protects the instrument well, but it’s worn: missing a handle and has some exterior flaking.
Only selling because it’s not getting the play time it deserves.
Great option for anyone looking for a high-quality, custom fretless with character and craftsmanship.
