Up for sale is a Gibson Earl Scruggs Standard in strong playing condition, delivering that classic Mastertone tone—crisp, powerful, and clear with excellent projection.
The banjo has been freshly set up with new strings, head, and bridge and is currently playing well.
It will be fitted with a Huber head, JD Crowe Stage strings, and a Dotson bridge prior to sale. The original Snuffy Smith bridge will also be included.
Highlights:
Hand-signed inside the resonator by Earl Scruggs
Original Gibson USA hard case (pink/orange interior) included
Fresh setup; additional premium components to be installed prior to delivery
Original Snuffy Smith bridge included
Structurally solid and playing well
Condition:
For a 40+ year old instrument, this banjo presents very well. It shows normal signs of use but has been well cared for. The frets are not heavily worn but could benefit from leveling if someone wanted it absolutely perfect—plays fine as-is.
The original case is in great shape and is a standout piece on its own—these are getting harder to find in this condition.
This is a great opportunity to own an early ESS with a genuine Earl Scruggs signature, set up and ready to play.
