Without a doubt the best sounding and most pristine condition Stelling Staghorn I've ever had. I have a real fondness for the early Stellings and this one has stunning woods and the greatly superior (in my humble opinion!) 5 piece neck used on some early models. I purchased this banjo from the original owner who brought the banjo back to Stelling in 2015 for rim issues, a flange crack, worn frets, and frozen tuners. Geoff installed a Tony Pass rim, a new flange (drilled for the Kershner tailpiece which the original owner preferred) as well as then-current two-band Schaller tuners, the now standard compensated nut for this banjo, and completely refretted the fingerboard (all factory work). The banjo also received a new head. Overall, the banjo looks brand new.
The case is 100% original and looks like it left Stelling yesterday - I included a picture of the silk screening which is just pristine.
It plays and sounds fantastic with wonderful low action with an 11/16" bridge.
