Waldman Chromatic 12” banjo No. 136 for sale, hand crafted by Mr. Chuck Waldman in Sonora, California. Purchased used back in 2021 from another Banjo buyer enthusiast. This banjo is made of beautiful cherry wood trimmed with rich Clara walnut with ebony fingerboard and side dot markers. The tone ring is made of wood and drilled with “tone chambers” on the inside of the ring. The result is a very bright, responsive and loud, clucky and very woody tone that really cuts through any configuration of jamming partners and sounds great as a solo instrument. Banjo spikes were professionally added to the 7th, 9th and 10th frets but the banjo tech accidentally pierced the back side of the neck at the 7th fret but was able to sand, fill and refinish the area that is perfectly smooth and unobtrusive, but did leave a small blemish in the neck (shown in pic). This has been one of my favorite banjos over the years, but old age and arthritis is slowly robbing me of the joy of playing, so I’m selling most of my instruments, keeping only those I want to pass to my sons. Banjo comes with a like new gig bag and will be safely packed and secured for shipment. Please feel free to respond with questions.
