This is an early 70's Baldwin Model C banjo. It's in really good condition for it's age and sounds awesome. The serial number is stamped in the tone ring - it's not on a sticker like later model Baldwin or Ode banjos. It comes with case. This banjo has a very unusual stain pattern on the resonator, so I took this banjo to a local luthier to examine it to see if it had been refinished and some point. He told me that it had never been refinished, so this banjo came from the factory this way. Let me know if you have questions or if you need other photos. One additional note: there are two defects in the finish at the bottom of the resonator where the banjo was allowed to set on a guitar stand (please see the photo). Sometimes on older instruments, an instrument's finish will interact with the rubber on a guitar stand. For this reason, the banjo's price has been further reduced.
I will be on vacation from Oct.31st until Nov. 10th. Please understand that if you make a purchase, I cannot ship until after Nov. 10th.
