A fine sounding example of the top of the line production model of the best banjo maker on Midtown Ct. in Hendersonville, TN. Like any respectable “G” style banjo, this instrument has a maple rim, resonator, and neck. The fretboard is rosewood. All metal hardware is gold plated, including the Huber HR-30 tonering and Waverly tuners.
Frets have some wear in the first position but have plenty of life left.
I purchased this banjo from a gentleman who told me he found it in the basement of a falling down house in a small Alaskan town. How on earth it got there none of us will ever know, but that would explain the significant finish checking all over the instrument. There are some dings on the neck and resonator, and in some lights there is a light “haze” in some colors or the sunburst. This is hard to photograph but I want to be upfront about any issues the instrument has.
No less, a terrific sounding and playing banjo. Comes shipped in the original Superior branded hard shell case that has a broken back latch.
