For Sale: Original 5 String Howard Banjo

This banjo is very rare and unique in that it is an original 5 string rather than a far more common tenor or plectrum model. Very few were produced in 5 string. This banjo does not feature the Kay patented 'neck adjuster' rod as seen on some S-V banjos (ca. 1930 before the company name changed and the patent was granted to Kay). It features Grover '2-tab' tuners, a Grover 'windowpane' tailpiece, and a Grover 5th string friction tuner. These are the exact parts used by Gibson on models such as the style 1 and style 2 ca. 1927-1930s. I believe this banjo is all original (save a likely replaced flange plate from a contemporary S-V banjo) and likely dates from ca. 1927-1930.
