Deering Goodtime full 19-fret tenor resonator banjo for Irish music or trad jazz - the 11in resonator enables you to be heard in sessions and the 19 fret neck means in Irish tuning the G string has sufficient tension not to be too loose as you find with 17 fret necks. If you need less volume for practicing merely unscrew the resonator and pack the head.
Very nice used instrument in good condition - negligible fret wear..
Tuned in 5ths like a viola or cello (C,G,D,A) or Irish (G,D,A,E). Currently set up for Irish with D’Addario nickel strings 36W, 24W,17,13. Could also be set up in (D,G,B,E) Chicago guitar tuning.??In both tunings it sounds vibrant, clear and bold with punch and sustain.??
