This example, an original 5 string Special Grand Concert, is a prime example of the best of Bacon banjos. With its detailed carved heel, intricate inlays etc. This is a very rare high end model that very few examples of were made.
It has its original NO-KNOT tailpiece, original frets, and original friction tuners. This one is missing two hooks/nut that can be easily replaced. This banjo, as most of this era, would benefit from a neck reset to reach its full potential. Thankfully there are a lot of folks doing excellent work with open backs these days.
