I am offering a rare 1966 Vega Fairbanks Tubaphone five-string banjo. It is a conversion from a four string banjo. A beautiful curly maple neck with a beautifully carved tailpiece made by Stew-mac. The tonering is a classic tubaphonic three-layer with oblong holes, (you wouldn't believe how much this tonering can make a show in a Bluegrass band...:-))....the banjo just roars...head tuned to Gis, 10 1/2 strings, bridge - maple 5/8. The whole banjo is in the natural form of the wood without a lot of shine and it suits him very well...The original label is on the inside on the tonering. The musical instrument also comes with an original hard case, which has been used for a long time, but belongs to the banjo. The banjo sounds really great and I hate to get rid of it, but I have to. Shipping from Europe to the US will cost about $250....I will pay the extra $150...
